Allison (left) and Maggie Robinson (right) devised "I am" as part of their Body Passages residency with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble and the Chicago Poetry Center.
"I am" invites audiences come unravel and examine their identity. Allison and Maggie conducted and recorded interviews discussing identity with people all throughout Chicago, and those voices make up the soundscape of the piece. In addition to their voices, this story is told through movement, spoken word, projections, audience interraction, and lots of red yarn and post-its.
Maggie and Allison have shown parts of the piece at some Heels Over Head shows with the Actor's Gymnasium. More footage to come!
